In the words of Jessie J… “It’s not about the money, money, money”. Well, OK, not ALL of the time. We like to give back a bit when we can. Here’s a little pro-bono project from last fall for the West Carleton Snowmobile Trails Association. As member clubs of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC), the Association relies on the hard work of volunteers and the generosity of land owners to survive. The Trail Association’s goal is to provide safe and well-maintained trails for riders and their families, so that anyone can enjoy this deeply rooted Canadian winter pastime!
New Identity System
In light of softening club membership and the need to attract new volunteers, Pivot Point recommended that the Association focus on building awareness for the club with better communication and unified brand. Some of the pieces were already being produced, but there was little in the way of visual unity or common voice. For this we had to start from the ground up, with a new logo, look and feel, and identity system.
In the 2013-2014 season Pivot Point Solutions designed the new WCSTA logo, and an identity system that the club could use to start to build brand awareness. Signage, displays, letterhead and newsletter masthead all followed (we’ll post some more of that on the site in the future).
Next up was helping members and visitors to the region find their way around. In the autumn of 2014 the brand was advanced yet again through a new and improved trail map for OFSC riders in the area. These Trail Guides make West Carleton a more welcoming place to travel and highlight tourism and local businesses in the area. Pivot Point provided design of the covers to wrap around it all, as well as WCSTA-branded point of purchase displays for distributing the guides at local outlets. With over 4000 km of trails across Ontario, a map is a very good thing to have!
